materials for Innovation by Design

I ran a 2-Day workshop, “Innovation by Design”, at Case Western Reserve University. Many participants requested presentations materials that I used for the workshop. So, here they are. At the bottom, I also added Amazon link for some books that I thought would be useful for the participants.

“Managing as Designing” (Stanford Business Books)

The book that started it all – at least for me.

“Design Driven Innovation: Changing the Rules of Competition by Radically Innovating What Things Mean” (Roberto Verganti)

An excellent book that gets to the “meaning” of products. It discusses how companies can create disruptive innovation by “redefining” the meaning of their products and services.

“Change by Design: How Design Thinking Transforms Organizations and Inspires Innovation” (Tim Brown)

How Design Thinking Transforms Organizations and Inspires Innovation” (Tim Brown)Change by Design: A good book that shows how design thinking can be applied to solve management problems.

“Designing Design” (Kenya Hara)

A beautiful book on design by Kenya Hara — designer for Mooji, a Japanese design firm. There are several very thoughtful essay on design and its meaning.
